Mondays

GENTLE YOGA with Irene (Zoom only)

Mondays: 3:00 - 4:30 pm

This class is great for students who are just beginning and want to gradually open their yoga bodies; mature yogis; pre-natal yogis; those healing from illness or injury; or anyone wanting a gentler, more supported yoga experience. We use chairs, walls and floor to support our postures. Taking the poses one at a time with lots of breath, everyone works at the level that works for their body. Gentle yoga is supportive, allowing time in the posture to use our breath and consciousness to build stamina, energy flow and wellness in our body, mind and spirit.

Tuesdays

LEVEL 1-3 IYENGAR YOGA with Marta

Tuesdays: 8:00 - 9:00 am

Iyengar yoga is a form of Hatha yoga that emphasizes precision and physical alignment of the body. By paying close attention to anatomical details and the alignment of each asana (posture), Iyengar yoga creates balance in the body and mind. Postures are held for a relatively long period; this allows muscles to relax and lengthen, and encourages awareness in the pose. Through attention to proper alignment, Iyengar Yoga encourages weak parts to strengthen and stiff areas to release, thus awakening and realigning the whole body.

Iyengar Yoga often makes use of props (such as chairs, belts, blocks, and blankets) as aids in performing asanas, allowing students to practice with greater ease and stability. Props help support the student to work in a range of motion that is safe and effective, minimizing the risk of injury or strain. They also make postures accessible for students regardless of physical condition, age, or experience. In addition to developing strength, balance and flexibility, Iyengar yoga develops emotional strength and a sense of well-being that helps students handle the challenges of life.

LEVEL 2-4 IYENGAR YOGA with Dorinda

Tuesdays: 9:30 - 11:00 am

Iyengar yoga for the advanced beginner and intermediate student.  In this class, emphasis will be placed on advancing one’s body awareness and anatomical alignment.  The practice will include a balanced focus of inversions, backbends, twists and forward bends. Six months consistent yoga asana practice is recommended.

SOUNDHEALING1_edited.jpg

Wednesdays: 6:00 - 7:15 pm

Everything in nature – from the smallest molecule, to the universe itself – is in a state of vibration. Sound itself is a vibration, and sound healing connects you directly to that universal life force, restoring you to a place of balance and harmony.

The class begins with a sitting meditation that will prepare your body to receive the sound healing. Then, lying on a yoga mat, you’ll experience a soothing guided meditation, the sounds from the Tibetan and quartz crystal singing bowls, and the frequencies from the attunement. The meditations and healing sounds combine to help clear, balance and harmonize your body, mind and soul, bringing you a sense of tranquility and calmness.
